Singapore Art Week
Singapore Art Week, the city’s annual celebration of the visual arts, returns in January 2016, from the 16th to the 24th. From art enthusiasts and seasoned collectors, to those new to the world of visual arts, this year’s edition has something for everyone.
Look out for exhibitions and programmes, experience art tours and film screenings, get a taste of urban art, check out gallery openings, art fairs and conversations, and much more. Not to be missed are the experiences of seeing and interacting with art and artists in unexpected spaces – such as People’s Park Complex in Chinatown, Little India, and Shophouse 5 located in Geylang, as well as plenty of public art around the Civic District.
Attend a talk or symposium designed for an in-depth and inspiring experience, or join an art tour and appreciate the ideas and meanings behind the art works. Check out site-specific installations that respond to the history and stories behind different spaces in interesting ways, or tours that examine connections between Singapore’s cinematic history, the shooting locations of classic films, and the visual arts. For a relaxing time, kick back at film screenings exploring the world of visual art and film.
