Prudential Eye Award 2016 Ceremony

The Prudential Eye Awards returns in 2016, featuring 15 artists who an eminent panel of Judges believe have the potential to go on and develop significant careers on the international art world stage.

Nominations are invited from specialists who are from 20 regions across Greater Asia. These specialists include leading curators, gallerists and artists. They are asked to make nominations in five categories of ‘Best Emerging Artist’. Nominated artists then submit examples of their work electronically and these are put forward to a panel of judges.

The judges draw up a shortlist of three artists in each category who are all invited to exhibit in the Awards Exhibition. During the Awards evening the judges choose a winner of each category and also an overall winner from who is awarded ‘Emerging Artist of the Year’. The winner of each ‘Best Emerging Artist…’ category receives a prize of USD20,000. The overall winner receives a further USD30,000 as well a solo exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery, London.
