A Brighter Summer Day

“A Brighter Summer Day” is festival of arthouse cinema created by iCINE-Magazzino del Cinema and organised by Alessandro Del Re, Martina Masini and Giulia Briccardi.

The festival takes place during the summer (June 30 – July 28, 2020) in three different Venetian open air locations: the AWAI association (Santa Croce, 201 / A), the Kolbe Cultural Center of Mestre (Via Aleardi 74/76), and the Fujiyama Tea Room Beatrice (C. Lunga S. Barnaba, 2727).

On the road…again – Sentieri interrotti e ripresi per la costituzione di una cartografia del viaggio al cinema (“Winter Adé” by Helke Misselwitz, “A Sixth Part of the World” by Dziga Vertov , “La Cicatrice Intérieure” by Philippe Garrel, “Docteur Chance” by F.J Ossang, “Vitalina Varela” by Pedro Costa)

Every Monday, from July 6 to 27 at 9.30 pm at CCK- Centro Culturale Kolbe
La realtà colta in flagrante – Percorsi nel cinema documentario italiano passato, presente e futuro. (“Panni sporchi” by Giuseppe Bertolucci, “I cortometraggi di Vittorio De Seta dal ‘54 al ‘59”, “Cadenza d’Inganno” by Leonardo Di Costanzo and “Il Silenzio di Pelesjan” by Pietro Marcello, “Triokala” by Leandro Picarella).

Appunti per un cinema post-coloniale Il cinema postcoloniale tra rivolta, documentazione e rielaborazione (“Antonio Das Mortes” by Glauber Rocha, “Labanta Negro!” by Piero Nelli + “Uruguay. La guerriglia urbana” by Romano Scavolini, “Loubia Hamra” by Narimane Mari).

A photo exhibition curated by Reading Bloom- Letizia M. Gatti with screening of short movies by the author. Film-screenings are also availbale by reservation  (The Connection, Portrait of Jason, Ornette: Made in America, Robert Frost: A Lover’s Quarrel with the World)
