The Picasso-Méditerranée project will be inaugurated at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini with the international conference of “Picasso-Méditerranée I. The studies passé enfui; l’Italie” on Thursday 24 and Friday, November 25, 2016.
Scholars from all over the world and directors of the most important international museums will discuss the relationship between Picasso and the Mediterranean culture, investigating in particular the influence that the numerous trips and the study of classical culture, have exerted on his training, eye and imagination.
The conference is part of the revolutionary three-year project Picasso-Méditerranée, sponsored by the Musée Picasso in Paris in collaboration with other international institutions, aimed at the celebration of the genius Pablo Picasso (1881-1973): an intensive program of exhibitions, publications and lectures that will be presented next November 24 premiere at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini.
