The Venice Glass Week 2023
The international festival founded in 2017 to celebrate, support and promote the art of glassmaking
The Venice Glass Week is an international festival founded in 2017 to celebrate, support and promote the art of glassmaking: the artistic and economic activity for which the Lagoon City of Venice has been renowned around the world for over 1,000 years. The seventh edition of the festival will take place from 9th to 17th September 2023.
The festival, which is promoted by Comune di Venezia, is organised by Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, Le Stanze del Vetro – Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti and Consorzio Promovetro Murano.
In 2022, especially for the UN International Year of Glass, The Venice Glass Week united temporarily with Vision Milan Glass Week to present The Italian Glass Weeks: a special event dedicated to both artistic and industrial glass, which took place in Milan from 10th – 18th September 2022 and in Venice from 17th – 25th September 2022. The Venetian week featured 267 events organised by 174 participants in 148 different venues across Venice, Murano and Mestre, and was attended by over 100,000 visitors from Italy and abroad.
Building on the success of this special edition, The Venice Glass Week will return in 2023 with an exciting programme of exhibitions, guided tours, workshops, demonstrations, conferences, family activities and more.
