Toolkit Festival 2015
Since 2011 Toolkit Festival has been organizing meetings with international artists who move in the field of experimentation with new art forms related to interactive technology.
The training of December 2015 provides for two workshops: interactivity of the body with Kinect camera and smart fabrics Wearable technology.
The 5th edition of the Toolkit Festival opens on December 4th at the Officina delle Zattere. The Festival aims to bring the latest technologies and experimental practices in the Italian art world, together with new interactive software that support visual and audio media. The event mission is to explore all the consequences that new technologies can produce, included the benefits and risks that they can lead to the human creativity.
In the Officina delle Zattere, which hosts for the 3rd time the Festival, the public will be able to enjoy the work of young and emerging artists, both Italian and international. There are Italian artists as Quayola, whose performances have been hosted by museums such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Museum Nactional Barcelona, and artists coming from overseas, as the pioneer Lillian Schwartz, one of the first women who used the computer for their art. During the Festival, two workshops will take place (“Digital Body” by Martin Romeo and “Wearable and e-textiles” by Luca Frogheri).
The Toolkit Festival, created and directed since the beginning by Martin Romeo is, once again, one of the greatest point of attraction in the Venetian art scene.
