Venice Design Biennial 2023

A permanent forum on the culture of design, the Venice Design Biennale connects Venice to an international network of design leaders.

Every two years it organises a diffuse design exhibitions in Venice, coinciding with the Architecture Biennale. Launched in 2016, it is divided between a thematic Main Group Exhibition and a series of Collateral Projects hosted within unique locations across the city. Along with the exhibitions, the Venice Design Biennial also proposes the Talks programme, with international speakers invited to share their visions on design.

The 4th edition of Venice Design Biennial will open from May 19 to June 18, 2023. The theme of the upcoming edition is Auto-Exotic. The Venice Design Biennial is glad to present the VDB Residency. The city offers a one-of-a-kind experience, a program that provides the selected designer with the opportunity to spend one month in Venice and produce a work in collaboration with local makers. The program aims at connecting international designers with outstanding artisans, thus developing a strong bond between cutting-edge design research and the traditional craftsmanship of Venice.
