Lecture: Orange Utopias

Utopias have accompanied the Migros model from its beginnings to the present day. Founded by Gottlieb Duttweiler in 1925, Migros was transformed into a cooperative in 1941. In 1957, the Migros Culture Percentage was firmly embedded in its articles of association. As a supplement to this, the Engagement Migros development fund was launched in 2012, whereby Migros is building on its own tradition of actively helping to shape the discussion of societal models—both real and fictional.

Stefan Schöbi holds a PhD in history and is Head of Engagement Migros. The Engagement Migros development fund was launched in 2012 to enable Migros to give voluntary support to projects in the fields of culture, sustainability, business and sport.
