Co-commissioned by Luma Foundation and Park Avenue Armory, New York, Enclosure is a video installation, combining close-ups of abstract images with demanding cinematography and an original soundtrack, designed by American Artist Rachel Rose (born in 1986).
It features the story of a theft which takes place in the 17th Century British agrarian world, marking the transition from the feudal system to capitalism. The work recalls a period at the heart of Rachel Rose’s work, which announces the economic, environmental, social and radical transformation which has grown since the 18th Century.
The exhibition will travel to the Park Avenue Armory, New York in 2020.
