Antoni Tàpies: The Practice of Art

Within the framework of the centenary of the birth of Antoni Tàpies (1923-2012), the exhibition “The Practice of Art” presents a synthesis of the research and development of the artist over eight decades of intense production.
From the 1940s to his final works, Tàpies’ experimentation with various media challenged academic norms. Featuring loans from numerous collections, this retrospective showcases his diverse use of materials and recurring themes, highlighting his complex, matter-based perspective on the contemporary world.
The exhibition offers a non-linear journey through Tàpies’ career, focusing on environments that create relationships beyond chronology, emphasysing the interconnectedness of his works.
