Friedensreich Hundertwasser: Die Ernte der Träume

Forum Würth Arlesheim, Dornwydenweg 11

“I want to show how simple it actually is to have paradise on earth.” Pursuing this aim, the painter, printmaker, architect and ecologist Friedensreich Hundertwasser (b. Vienna, 1928) created an oeuvre that made him one of the most popular, but also controversial, artists in Austria in the period following the Second World War.

The paintings and prints by Hundertwasser in the Würth Collection provide an in-depth survey of his work from the 1950s to the 1990s (he died in 2000). They feature examples of the various techniques he used and show how these led to very different kinds of image. And they reveal not only Hundertwasser’s technical skill, but also the fascination exuded by the work of this ‘prophet of the imagination’.
