Kostas Maros: Traces of Absence

In this exhibition Kostas Maros brings together the two photographic series "Myths of Everyday Life" and "Cicatrice". Both bodies of work revolve around the observation that landscapes often speak most clearly through what is no longer visible. Maros’ photographs rarely depict people directly. Instead, they reveal subtle traces of human presence that have become inscribed in landscapes shaped by both everyday life and industrial interventions. Artificial light, fences, objects, or precisely cut stone surfaces point to actions that have already taken place but remain only fragmentarily legible. Against the backdrop of the Anthropocene, landscapes appear both familiar and transformed.
