Magali Reus: Salt

In the solo exhibition “Salt", Dutch artist Magali Reus examines how objects captivate the human gaze, using sculptural forms to dissect the broader systems of desire and attention. The presented works merge industrial manufacturing with manual craftsmanship, forming a unique material ecosystem where silhouettes hint at everyday items while withholding any definitive function or identity. Collectively, the installation charts the lifecycle of commercial goods, tracking the journey from the sophisticated packaging that sparks initial consumer demand to the object’s eventual obsolescence. Rather than disappearing, however, these rejected materials subvert their waste status to make a striking aesthetic comeback.
