Milly Peck: A Matter of Routine
The first solo exhibition by the artist at the gallery
Volta Zentrum, Vogesenplatz 15, Basel, Switzerland
The exhibition by Milly Peck at Vitrine gallery in Basel features a new body of works by the British artist, working on the edge between two and three dimensions. Her scenes draw inspiration from everyday or domestic environments, interpreted with her signature-style palette of modest colours. On the occasion, Peck studied the gallery’s surroundings in Basel, an old train depot, train tracks and a tram stop, to create renderings mixing different influences and scenes from other train travel. The title of the exhibition is extracted from a dialogue in Agatha Christie’s detective novel ‘Murder On The Orient Express’ (1934).
