Mock-Up

The S AM Swiss Architecture Museum presents the exhibition “Mock-up”.

Mock-ups are usually created as models to help us understand the finished product or building in full size and with same materials before the construction begins.

Here mock-ups are exhibited as artifacts with their own right and poetic potential that goes beyond their purely technical function.

The exhibition features the photographic series ‘Archetypes’ by the Canadian photographer David K. Ross.
On view also contributions by designers and architects that introduce the visitor into the possibilities of mock-ups in very different ways.

“Mock-Up” is not limited to the exhibition spaces, in fact the S AM has compiled a map of recent mock-up sightings with the help of numerous ‘spotters’.
