Ser Serpas: Of My Life

Ser Serpas is passionate about corporeal and poetic forms of expression, which she explores through both painting and sculpture. In her largest solo exhibition to date in Switzerland, she presents the full range of her aesthetic vocabulary, examining the boundaries between the body, time, and the ephemeral images that emerge in between.

At Kunsthalle Basel, Serpas brings together sculpture, painting, and performance, with a particular focus on her collaboration with the Margo Korableva Performance Theatre from Tbilisi. In their respective practices, both Serpas and the theatre company work with existing elements, deconstructing and imbuing them with new, reimagined meanings. This artistic synergy allows Serpas to re-enact selected performances from the theatre’s repertoire, creating a dynamic and engaging dialogue between performance art and her sculptural works.
