Sharif Waked: Halftones

Curated by Nicola Trezzi and Ines Goldbach, this is the first solo exhibition in Switzerland by Sharif Waked – who lives and works in Nazareth and Santa Barbara, California.

For the exhibition Sharif Waked (*1964, Nazareth) brings together several works, including pieces from his most recent series “Arabesque.” In his practice, the artist investigates cultural and political moments in present and past histories, playfully juxtaposing different positions and narratives and generating paradoxical and absurd encounters.
