Laleh June Galerie presents its upcoming exhibition entitled “Star Rider” which takes its title from the British-American band Foreigner and Star Rider in 1977. The exhibition features works by five Swiss and international artists: Cris Faria, Reza Panahi, Marine Provost, Marc Rembold, Philippe Zumstein. They use a range of techniques, such as painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media and photography. They not only draw inspiration from their experiences and personal history, but also from their imagination.

Cris Faria was born in 1975. BA at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, (HEAD) Geneva in 2005, Faria lives and works in Zurich, Switzerland. His work was featured in various solo and group exhibitions at Laleh June Galerie in Basel since 2009.

Panahi’s work was included in more than 20 group exhibitions and 8 solo exhibitions in Iran, Spain and Germany. The subjects of his paintings seem either to be rooted in private myths or in Persian miniature. They include bizarre creatures with huge totemic heads attached to plants or to the bodies of animals or human beings, and sprouting snakes, wings, and other forms. Panahi’s recent paper works now on view at Laleh June Galerie in Basel are more inspired by relics of archaic and ancient civilizations. Fantastically interpreted by Reza Panahi to express universal archetypes. They also seem to be purely imaginative include creatures and animals. The artist has a fascination for the symmetry and repetition of the same. This fascination for double may come from la nature duelle de l’homme.  Artist’s fascination with Carl Jung cannot be ignored.

Marine Provost was born in 1987. Provost has attended l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and L’Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. Her work was featured in various exhibitions at Laleh June Galerie in Basel since 2015.

Marc Rembold was born in 1963. Admired for his living colours, changing spectral colours, Marc Rembold has always developed a protean aspect to his art. His career features a constant dialogue between paintings, sculptures, mixed media, installations and objects. His worked is organized by series.
The artist invents his own colours since 1980s. Marc Rembold has started with his colour invention «Light in Colour Changing Colour» and artist’s paintings series named after this in 1980s «Light in Colour» paintings the colour changes lives moves.
