Stella Meris: Flash Forward

Dock Archiv, Diskurs- und Kunstraum is hosting the work of Basel-born artist Stella Meris. Stella Meris studied in Berlin and now regularly moves back and forth between cities. In the exhibition “Flash Forward”, the artist presents large paintings, made with a mixed technique of neon colours, acrylic and egg tempera, marker and spray cans. Body sensations influenced by meditation and strength training are reworked as a pictorial spatial installation into a character inspired by stage design. In doing so, Stella Meris uses her own signs and symbols, which she often derives from urban structures and the human body. Her works break away from classical painting and are transformed into graphic, digitally effective images.
