Nicolas Krupp Gallery presents the Stephan Melzl solo show.
Many details in the work of Stephan Melzl appear anachronistic – the colours take long to dry, formats are small and plates are made of wood.
Melzl has been creating an intimate work for more than 30 years by constructing an own world with allusions and references to the history of art, to metaphorical elements and to surrealistic narrations of the classical modern. Nevertheless, the present can be detected in his paintings and provides a hybrid experience of the world.
