What Was Could Be: Experiments Between Preservation and Architecture
Marking the 50th anniversary of the 1975 European Architectural Heritage Year, the exhibition reflects on past, present, and future approaches to architectural conservation. It explores the evolving role of preservation in sustainable architecture, emphasising the importance of reusing and adapting existing structures over new construction.
The exhibition is curated by Yuma Shinohara under the artistic direction of Andreas Ruby. It features contributions by Sudents of the Elective Course: ‘Preservation: Exhibiting and Communicating’, Fall Semester 2024, ETH Zurich; ARGE Boesch Diener – Eisabeth Boesch, Martin Boesch, Roger Diener, Fabian Kiepenheuer Dieter Righetti; Architekturkollektiv squadra; and film by Jens Franke.
