Sanja Latinović: Prepreka ili prag

The exhibition is conceived as a review of the artist’s previous practice. For the first time, unified and somewhat systematised, her uniform yet diverse performances are visually compared and seen as thoughts on the nature, expression, and themes of performance actions.

The exhibition shows five key public performances that have so far taken place in the form of video documentation (Aquarium, Deviation, Do not cross, Inspired zida, Movements: White), two video performances – one made at Marina Abramović’s master class “Abandoned”, the other under the name “Ptica”, and five installations that include materials from performances held previously but which can now be considered art objects.

His performative actions can be classified into three groups: independent, often radical performances; collective performances on the level of physical and mental reflection within the spirit of community; through installations and materialised objects in which he leads the audience to participate and take on the role of the main performer.
All of this, individually and collectively, characterises the author’s specific approach to analysing the creation and development of an artistic act, which can be understood primarily at the level of the implementation of different forms of behaviour and as an already formatted model from which there is no deviation.
