12X12 Video Art at Berlinische Galerie: Nik Nowak

The IBB video space presents twelve different artists who make an innovative use of media and video. Within the programme, the artist and musician Nik Nowak presents its work No Silence for the Great Leader in which he records his trip to North Korea, made in 2017 with a delegation of creatives. The purpose of the trip was to complete an exchange with artists at the University of Pyongyang, so that various art projects and workshops were planned for the occasion.

The video shows the efforts of the artis to implement his proposed audio project titled “Symphony of Silence”, in the isolated country. Since its project was thwarted by the local authorities, the video becomes a documentation of the trip’s impressions and achievements.
