Alexandra Pirici: Attune
A major new site-specific installation by Alexandra Pirici featuring live action and music in the Historic Hall of Hamburger Bahnhof. This exhibition inaugurates a new series of annual commissions at the museum, launching with Gallery Weekend Berlin.
“Attune” explores the connections between humans and their more-than-human counterparts, focusing on how they resemble, influence, and align with each other to create complex structures—be they chemical, physical, mineral, or social. In the Historic Hall, Pirici crafts a dynamic imaginary landscape, blending sculptural elements with live action and musical pieces of her own choreography and composition. This environment, both archaic and futuristic, showcases chemical reactions, mineral formations, and physical phenomena alongside living bodies, celebrating the continuum of living and non-living matter. Through this interplay, the exhibition highlights how stable structures emerge from the seemingly random behaviors of atoms, molecules, and cells.
