Contemporary Fine Arts present the second solo exhibition with Christian Rosa. In his new series, the canvases first go through a printing process. The artist then reacts to this typographically generated surfaces with brush, resin and chalk.
Christian Rosa was born in Rio de Janeiro; he was raised and educated in Vienna, and later on moved to Los Angeles. Rosa studied under Daniel Richter at Akademie der bildenden Künste in Vienna where he graduated in 2012.
Christian Rosa belongs to a generation of young artists whose work continues to stretch the boundaries of abstract art. His reductivist approach to painting (by limiting his gestures to individual physical actions that intertwine with each other across the canvas) lines this artist up with such names as Joan Miró, Julian Schnabel, Joe Bradley and Oscar Murillo.
