Evelyn Taocheng Wang: What is he afraid of?
KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Auguststraße 69
For the series Pause, the Chinese artist Evelyn Taocheng Wang presents a new body of work, consisting of two films and an installation of large-scale fabrics. The artist usually researches issues related with identity and with influences of autobiographical structures on human body. On this occasion, her work arises from the investigation of differences in mythologies and how they change in relation with different cultures and with the way they are constantly retold over time, focusing on the fairy tale of The Princess and the Frog.
Pause is a platform by KW Institute which aims to present singular installations for a short period of time in order to bridge relationships between the past, present and future.
