Jean Molitor: Bau1haus | Die Moderne In Der Welt
The exhibition shows Bau1haus photographic series by artist Jean Molitor, just a small part of a bigger and ambitious project by the Berlin-based artist, that is to travel the world to portray Bauhaus inspired buildings. The images show architectures from countries such as Lebanon, Israel, Cuba, Cambodia, Burundi, Congo, Guatemala, Uruguay and Argentina as well as Europe, portrayed all in an equal manner, with the aim to build a global archive of structures in constant growth.
The intention of Molitor, which considers its research an open project, is to underline global connections and the worldwide exchange that took place during the Bauhaus experience and even after its conclusion, documenting the buildings of this period as they appear in everyday life. The series of architectural photographs is just a fraction of this huge project, that can be considered the only one of its kind.
