Jim Avignon: The Remains Of The Night
The exhibition features works by the artist Jim Avignon, which recall the period of the 1920s, by quoting famous artist such as Otto Dix, Max Beckmann and George Grosz and trying at the same time to establish parallels between that epoch and the present days.
The solo show The Remains Of The Night analyses the so-called Golden Twenties, namely the period from 1924 to 1929, which saw in Berlin the establishment of a completely new attitude to life, characterised by cosmopolitanism and internationality and new forms of entertainment. The exhibition recalls also the New Objectivity art movement with its hard realism, which reacted to this new experience of the city.
