KW Production Series 2018

KW Production Series is a project dedicated to artists’ moving image works and concentrates on two new productions per year. Through the series, KW’s aim is to identify artists who are at a pivotal moment in their work and career to contribute to their artistic practice in a relation of mutual advantage and collaboration.

The 2018 edition features artists Jamie Crewe and Beatrice Gibson‘s videos. Crewe’s Pastoral Drama is composed by two parallel videos which carry on a double narration, comparing Greek legends and a 17th-century opera. Crewe reflects upon the evolution of mythic narratives, personal change, and collective political time.

I Hope I’m Loud When I’m Dead is the video installation by Beatrice Gibson. which explores ideas around gender, poetry, and disobedience. The video mixes materials shot on the eve of the 45th presidential inauguration in Jauary 2017 both from public and more intimate sphere.
