Mittelstaedt Ingo: Cella

The exhibition Cella showcases works by Ingo Mittelstaedt (*1978 in Berlin) that once again deal with the biography of artist and designer Martel Schwichtenberg (1945-1986). The works are linked to Mittelstaedt’s exhibition in the Kunstverein Hannover which took place at the beginning of the year and was dedicated to the life and work of Martel Schwichtenberg.

Mittelstaedt’s new large-scale works in cloth show the artist’s subjective appropriation of work and biography, image and text, as well as public and private documents. The distinctive photographic work of Ingo Mittelstaedt features meticulously thought out compositions in which the distinction between representation and abstraction, what is found and what is staged is questioned.
