Olafur Eliasson: In Real Life
The 30 artworks of "Olafur Eliasson: In Real Life" reflect on the way we perceive and understand reality.
“Olafur Eliasson: In Real Life” reflects on the way we perceive and understand reality, as he said in October 2019 when he became Goodwill Ambassador for the UNDP: “Art is not the object but what the object does to the world.”.
The 30 art pieces the Danish-Icelandic artist presents at the “Guggenheim Museum Bilbao” are made from different mediums and techniques, such as sculptures, photographs, painting and installations. His work, from the early 90′, plays around the meaning and the different possibilities of the viewers’ perception of reality, by putting him at the center of his art and talking about urgent contemporary issues.
Eliasson explores the possibilities of his art and its relationship whit the world by working whit a multi-skilled team in his Berlin-based studio and using any kind of materials for his works such as moss, water, ice, fog, light, or reflective metals. He also works with architecture projects trying to impact directly the world we live in.
