Giosetta Fioroni: Il futuro è uscito dal passato
Galleria d’Arte Maggiore g.a.m. in Bologna presents a major exhibition on Giosetta Fioroni, a central figure of postwar Italian art and a lasting influence on contemporary artists. Titled “Il futuro è uscito dal passato”, the show explores Fioroni’s dialogue with art history, literature, and memory as a space for reworking experience and imagination.
The exhibition highlights key works, including the “Argenti” series, with reflective silver surfaces suspended between presence and dissolution, and the legendary performance “La Spia Ottica”, examining vision, the gaze, and the relationship between subject and image. Later works include “Pisan Cantos” and her poetic ceramics, “Teatrini” and “Vestitini”, exploring memory, identity, and the female condition.
Across painting, performance, video, ceramics, and more, Fioroni’s work demonstrates a poetic resistance and critical continuity, connecting history, lived experience, and imagination with enduring relevance.
