Goran Trbuljak: Before and After Retrospective

Villa delle Rose dedicates the largest retrospective ever organised in Italy to the Croatian-born artist Goran Trbuljak, active since the late sixties in the context of conceptual art and movement known as New Art Practice. The exhibition “Before and After Retrospective”, organised in collaboration with the Geneva Center of Contemporary Art, presents a selection of some of his most important works made over the past 50 years, including paintings, frottages, monochromes and monograms, photographs, films, books and documentation of his street actions. The works on show highlight an ability to touch the inner strings with a sense of humor that distinguishes the work of Trbuljak from that of many other artists who, at the turn of the sixties and seventies, worked on the dematerialisation of the work of art, with practices that involve the use of speech and performance.
