More Than This

Fondazione Coppola, in collaboration with Musei Nazionali di Bologna – Direzione Regionale Musei Nazionali Emilia-Romagna and the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia, presents “More Than This”, an exhibition of over forty paintings on canvas and paper by twelve artists linked through their studies at Atelier F: Thomas Braida, Chiara Calore, Francesco Cima, Nebojša Despotović, Jingge Dong, Beatrice Gelmetti, Chiara Peručh, Paolo Pretolani, Adelisa Selimbašić, Danilo Stojanović, Aleksander Velišček, and Maria Giovanna Zanella.

Curated by Daniele Capra, the show offers a critical survey of this significant contemporary Italian painting school. Atelier F is defined less by style than by a methodology of dialogue and collaboration between artists and works, fostering a shared intelligence through horizontal exchanges and unexpected outcomes.

The exhibition highlights the balance between individual practice and collective engagement, presenting each artist’s distinctive approach, from surreal and metaphysical tones to strongly emotional figurations and flowing, liquid abstractions.
