Zhōuwéi Network

“Zhōuwéi Network” is an interdisciplinary worldbuilding project that explores the relationship between datafication, political power, and individual affective experiences, using as a fundamental paradigm the notion of “ambitopia”: a form of speculative imagination that overcomes the dichotomy utopia-dystopia.

The exhibition explores the way in which the various social systems and their ideological foundations condition individual and collective behavior, through the notion of “affective atmosphere”. An affective experience can be understood as the set of sensations, emotions, and drives that precede rational thought, thus constituting the foundation from which cognitive processes and subjectivation emerge; it is, therefore, a pre-linguistic and pre-individual experience.
