Among the Invisible Joins
The works selected for “Among the Invisible Joins” invite viewers to reflect on the transitional spaces of contemporary existence, where socio-political tensions intertwine with artistic expression. Artists such as Lisetta Carmi, Nan Goldin, and Zoe Leonard emphasize the fluid nature of identity, viewing bodies as open systems in constant exchange with their surroundings. The works of Giulia Cenci, Jef Geys, Roman Ondak, Tarik Kiswanson, and Bronwyn Katz further explore this theme, using doors and windows as recurring motifs that frame the human body and symbolize transitions and thresholds. Everyday objects, urban architecture, and public décor—reinterpreted in the sculptures of Alex Ayed or the installations of Michael E. Smith and Massimo Bartolini—are relocated and reframed to create new narratives, forging unexpected connections between geographies and memories.
