Fantastic Women

The group exhibition is the first comprehensive presentation of the works of the often forgotten or little known surrealist women artists. 34 masterpieces investigate the fundamental role of female characters inside the artistic movement, more important than in other artistic currents. Artists from Europe, the US and Mexico, show different possible approaches to the surrealist ideas, each one bringing a different and personal contribution to the Surrealist vocabulary.

“Fantastic Women – Surreal Worlds” features well-known names like Louise Bourgeois, Frida Kahlo, Leonora Carrington and Meret Oppenheim, but it is also the first opportunity to experience artists like Kay Sage, Leonor Fini and Toyen in Denmark.
