A Memory of Places

In collaboration with Cairo-based Azad Gallery, the exhibition includes selected pieces from a group of six Egyptian artists. The ambiguous relationship between place and memory is explored by each artist. Some choose to recreate a place, others to decipher its mysteries. Whatever the artistic inclinations, the connection between space and recollection is one we can all understand. Further, one will find that the search for identity serves as an underlying theme, tying together the works of this group that shares a collective experience of Egypt over the past two decades.
