Farhad Moshiri Book Launch/Exhibition

Alserkal Avenue, Street 8, Al Quoz 1

This spring, Skira will be publishing the first major monograph devoted to the contemporary Iranian artist, Farhad Moshiri. An initiative led by Dina Nasser-Khadivi, this double volume monograph aims to offer the first consolidated critical review of Moshiri’s oeuvre by approaching his work thematically and chronologically over a span of twenty years. It includes works that have never before been published, along with critical essays by: Negar Azimi, senior editor of Bidoun; Dr. Maryam Ekhtiar from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York;Vassilis Oikonomopoulos from the TATE Modern, London; and Aram Moshayedi from the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles. To celebrate the launch of this project, Dina Nasser-Khadivi will set up a non-commercial exhibition at Alserkal Avenue’s Unit 61 running from March 14-19. It will feature works on loan from various important private collections in the region to lend context to the monograph while displaying some of Moshiri’s most iconic pieces.
