Halim Al Karim: History In The Making

The exhibition features the Iraqi-based artist’s latest series of photographic work employing a new technique using optical film. Al Karim explores notions of escapism and the idea of suppressed memories as windows to other lifetimes. From the artist’s statement “I take a great interest in how history and hidden memory shapes the understanding of our being in other worlds, how it’s shaped by the contradictions that our existence poses between two realities.”
