Naz Shahrokh: The Ocean Refuses No River

The solo exhibition by artist Naz Shahrokh features two bodies of works from different moments of her career. “Ode to Emirates (Seeking Nefertiti)”  is a mixed-media series using as starting point former maps of the UAE. The artist deconstructs them to stage reimagined, dissected, and untold narratives. The series “On the Road (from then to now)” originates from the several used notebooks and journals collected by the artist over the years. Shahrokh combines them to reflect upon the fragility of human memory, incapable of fixing anything into a solid form. Finally, the sculptural piece “Artist Palette Series“ is also on view, an investigation of the artist’s practice based on the collection and assembling of fragmented or found objects.
