RexChouk: Purple Rain

The exhibition features the work by the mysterious artist RexChouck, self-taught, based in Jedda, working with satirical vignettes. In these drawings, he portrays Khaleeji pop culture teasing the boundaries between public and private life in the region with a combination of satire and social critique. To do so, he only shows in public wearing a mask.

His signature style lies on a recognizable visual language made of symbols and archetypes, such as in the “Purple Rain” series, recognizable for its lavender palette, or the recurring characters of “7uni” and “Yunn”.
