Reza Aramesh: At 9:15 am Sunday 28 May 1967

Leila Heller Gallery presents “At 9:15 am Sunday 28 May 1967”, Reza Aramesh‘s solo show featuring two bodies of sculptural work, immortalizing an event or Action, as Aramesh titles them, of unnamed rebellious subjects, and a series of diminutive bronze sculptures of hybrid creatures with human bodies and animal heads (Metamorphosis – a study in liberation). In this way, imbued with these borrowed mythical powers, the figures become both more human and heroic.
