Curated by Nat Muller, the show Driven by Storms (Ali’s Boat) presents the exciting new body of work the Iraqui artist Sadik Alfraji (b. 1960, Baghdad).
All the works have grouped around the theme of Ali’s Boat, based on drawing his young nephew, Ali, gave him on a family visit to Baghdad in 2009.
Much of Alfraji‘s oeuvre addresses the vulnerability of human existence and speaks of loss, exile, fragmentation and displacement.
Sadik Alfraji is a visual artist, print maker and designer. Studied art and philosophy, to him art and philosophy blend, for their course in depth is one. Doesn’t believe in one fixed form that might limit the artist or in the material in itself, what is more important is the style.
