Shaikha Al Mazrou

Artist Shaikha Al Mazrou‘s “Green house: Interior yet Exterior, Manmade yet Natural” is the first commission of Artist’s Garden, a series of annual artists’ interventions to cultivate and experiment besides the Centre’s seven gardens designed by Anouk Vogel. The Dubai-based artist creates a structure inspired by regular topics in her research which play with dichotomies such as interior/exterior, manmade/natural, creation/destruction, containment/constriction, and transition/reflection.

Shaikha Al Mazrou lives and works in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and has undertaken residencies in Dubai as part of Artists in Residence (A.i.R), a collaboration between Art Dubai, Delfina Foundation and Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. Al Mazrou is represented by Lawrie Shabibi. Her sculptural experimentations investigate tension, materials and their physical properties.
