Wissam Shawkat & Majid Alyousef: Contours

“Contorurs”, the show presented at FN Designs, brings the concept of calligraphy to a new level exhibiting the works of two artists fascinated by the linear elegance of Arabic calligraphy. Wissam Shawkat referencing calligraphic abstract forms, reflects a transformation of the organic forms of letters into monumental geometric shapes and volumes. Majid Alyousef explores new concepts of movement, time and perspective, imagining the subject as a fluctuation of delicate forms in a hyperbolic space, then try to represent that into a 2D visual or 3D object.
