Wonder women of Gaza

Wonder Women of Gaza is a joint exhibition of the photographer Ovidiu Tataru and international medical humanitarian organisation MSF.

The series is an effort to reflect the qualities and humanity Ovidiu has seen in the women of Gaza, Palestine. Comprised of individual portraits in which women are adorned with a superhero cape, this project seeks to give voice to the women of Gaza – genuine heroes, living in a very difficult context. Ovidiu’s photographs supplant stereotypical images of destruction, poverty and conflict with lighthearted images of women laughing and enjoying themselves, because despite all odds there is hope for peace and a better life.
