Maisoon Al Saleh: The 3 Phase Signal

The solo show by artist Maisoon Al Saleh, “THE 3 PHASE SIGNAL”, is open at the Etihad Modern Art Gallery, Abu Dhabi. On display, a series of paintings portraying unknown characters with blank faces or the facial traits replaced by colourful visual effects. The only details left are the ones related to their religious beliefs and cultural traditions.
The work highlights Al Saleh’s investigation of the existing relationships between people of different cultures and nationalities: whereas human traits are the thing that most distinguishes individuals from one another, they are also the strongest link among the human species.
