Marina Abramović: The Cleaner

Palazzo Strozzi hosts a major retrospective dedicated to one of the most controversial and revolutionary personalities of contemporary art, Marina Abramović. Collecting more than one hundred works, namely videos, photographs, paintings, objects and installations, The Cleaner is a comprehensive overview of artist’s career: many of the most famous works by Abramović are included while some of her performance pieces are specially recreated for the occasion by a trained group of performers.

The exhibition follows in the series of events dedicated by the venue to leading figures of contemporary art landscape and results from a direct collaboration with the artist and other relevant institutions such as Moderna Museet, Stockholm, the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Humlebæk, and the Bundeskunsthalle, Bonn.
