“Asia and Migration” consists of three thematic sections – the Diasporic Asian Artists – North America displays a chronological archive of exhibitions that were held by diasporic Asian artists in the North American region with the highest Asian population; the Contact Points Archive featuring the movement against the eviction of the International Hotel, the symbolic event of the 20th century’s history of American immigrants, and materials about reconstructions, suggest the experience of the immigrant art in the social, political context; Asia’s Migration displaying stories of Korean immigrants who volunteered to migrate due to economic reasons, shows various individual experiences that are not dealt in the official historical record.
